Golf Cart:
The use of a golf cart is permitted for this event. Carts may be prepaid online at the time of entry or on-site each day of the tournament.
Eligibility:
Entry is open to any female amateur golfer:
(1) Who is an MGA Associate Member,
(2) Who is at least 50 years old as of the first day of the Championship,
(3) Whose Minnesota Handicap Index® is active at the time of entry, and
(4) Whose Minnesota Handicap Index® is active effective the first day of the Championship.
An entry may be rejected at the discretion of the Committee at any time, including after the competition has closed.
NOTE: For eligibility purposes, an MGA Associate Member through the MGA Join On-Line (JOL) program must have a Minnesota connection in addition to JOL membership in order to participate. Examples of connections would be a MN resident (permanent or seasonal), a non-resident student at a MN school, and/or an MGA course connection, validated by a course employee and/or score posting record. The Committee's decision on such a connection and eligibility is final.
FORMAT:
CHAMPIONSHIP FLIGHT: 36-holes, GROSS stroke play
OTHER FLIGHTS: 36-holes, GROSS stroke play
MASTERS FLIGHT: 36-holes, NET stroke play
The Champion will be the player with the lowest 36 hole total in the Championship Flight. In the event of a tie for the Championship, there will be a hole-by-hole playoff immediately folloiwng play. Ties for first place in any other flight will be broken by a scorecard playoff as recommended by USGA policy.
Flights:
Flights, other than the MASTERS FLIGHT, will be determined after registration has closed. A player will be assigned to a flight according to her Handicap Index® on the deadline.
The MASTERS FLIGHT is limited to players age 65 and older. Players MUST select this flight at registration if they wish to compete in this flight.
A Flight Report will be published after flights have been established.
Schedule:
Tuesday, August 20: Round 1 - 1:00 pm, SHOTGUN START
Wednesday, August 21: Round 2 - 8:00 am, #1/10 Start
NOTE: Round 1 Groupings and Hole Assignments will be posted after registration has closed.
Practice Rounds:
Practice rounds will be available. To schedule a practice round, call Eagle Creek Golf Club (320/235-1166) and identify yourself as a MGA Women’s Senior Amateur contestant. The fee may be determined by the day and time you play.
Driving Range:
Range balls will be provided prior to play each day. The range will be open at least 60 minutes prior to play.
Food & Beverages:
There will be a Players Dinner on Tuesday immediately following play. Guests are invited for $35. Please notify the MGA staff in advance if you will be bringing a guest. Food and beverages are available at other times on a cash or charge basis.
Accommodations:
A room block with special rates is available at the Little Crow Resort and Grand Stay Hotel and Suites in Spicer. It is a convenient 15 minute drive north of Eagle Creek. They offer a Golf. Gather. Stay. package with special rates for golf at Little Crow and rooms at the Grand Stay. Head out for a long weekend prior to the Championship!
