ISLEWORTH, Fla. -- The sixth hole at Isleworth Country Club probably isn't Tom Hoge's favorite. He bogeyed it on Sunday in the first round of the Isleworth Collegiate Invitational, and on Monday in the second round he made a double bogey at the 411-yard par-4.
That, plus bogeys at two other par-4's on the front nine (both of them over 460 yards), sent the TCU senior from Fargo on the way to a 76 and cost him 10 places in the individual standings.
Hoge, who has won each of the last two Minnesota State Amateur championships, is now tied for 12th place with a 36-hole total of 146.
Robin Wingardh of Tennessee was the only player to break 70 on the 7,544-yard layout. His 68 put him at 139, and he has a two-stroke lead over Stanford's Andrew Yun (71-70--141).
Alabama took over first place in the team competition with a 292, the best score of the day. The Crimson Tide are at 583 for two days and lead by four going into Wednesday's final round. Stanford and LSU are joint tennants in second place at 587.
TCU is two behind them in fourth.
