Kauffman and Hicks Winners at Twin Cities Junior Championship

  BLAINE, Minn. – Carding a pair of late birdies Monday, Nicholas Kauffman carded a 1-under par 70 to earn a one-stroke victory over Caden Pratt at the 28th Twin Cities Junior Championship at Victory Links Golf Course.
 
The soon-to-be senior at Chanhassen High School collects his third amateur victory after earning a pair of wins on the Minnesota PGA Junior Circuit.
 
Kurt Lambert, Rush Creek Golf Club, and Alex Bradley, Heritage Links Golf Course, each carded rounds of 3-over par 74 Monday to finish in a tie for third, while Boede Guza, Chaska Town Course, and Ben Rasinski, Heritage Links Golf Course, placed in a tie for fifth, shooting rounds of 75.
 
In the Boys’ 13-15 Division, Danny Renner, Deer Run Golf Club, posted a 5-under 66 to earn a six-stroke victory over Carter Spalding. Dylan Kringen’s nine-hole round of 38 earned him medalist honors in the Boys’ 12 and Under Division.
 
Madison Hicks, who was a member of the Class AAA team champions from Chanhassen High School, posted a 1-under par 70 Monday to earn a six-stroke victory over Jaycee Rhodes to win the 17th Twin Cities Junior Championship.
 
It’s the second victory at the event for Hicks, winning the Girls’ 13-15 Division a year ago with a round of 9-over par 80.
 
Ella McCabe, Lanesboro Golf Course, earned medalist honors in the Girls’ 12 and Under Division, shooting a nine-hole total of 52.
