April 22, 2024
BRYAN, Texas – After he began the second round of the 2014 Junior PGA Championship tied for the lead, Minnesotan Parker Reddig carded a 3-over par 74 Wednesday to sit tied for ninth place at even par 142 with two rounds to play at Miramont Country Club.
The championship consists of 72 holes of stroke play, with a cut after 54 holes to the top 30 players, plus ties.
Reddig, Minneapolis, rolled in one birdie with two bogeys on the opening nine holes to shoot 1-over par 36 heading to the back nine.
He would make eight pars, but a double-bogey on the par-4 17th hole would put Reddig in the clubhouse tied for ninth place at even par 142 after two rounds.
Sarah Burnham, Wayzata, Minn., opened the tournament with a 5-over par 76 Tuesday and followed it with a 3-over par 74, to move up into a tie for 25th place at 150.
After carding a pair of bogeys on the opening nine holes to go 2-over on the day, Burnham came back with two birdies on the 10th and 14th holes to get back to even.
A bogey on the 15th put Burnham back to 1-over for the round before a double-bogey on the 16th dropped her to 3-over. She would par the final two holes of the day to shoot 74 and move into 25th place.
The third round gets underway Thursday at Miramont Country Club with tee times beginning at 7 a.m.
