Wagner Medals to Earn Spot in MGA Mid-Players' Championship

  DETROIT LAKES, Minn. – Bob Wagner carded an 8-over par 78 Thursday at Detroit Country Club to earn medalist honors as well as a place in the 2015 Minnesota Golf Association Mid-Players’ Championship.

A field of just two players competed for a lone qualifying spot to this year’s tournament, which will be played co-currently with the MGA Senior Players’ Championship, June 15-17 at Wayzata Country Club in Wayzata, Minn.

Wagner, Minneapolis Golf Club, shot a 41 on the opening nine holes before finishing his round with a 38 on the back to qualify Thursday.

Bob Cavanaugh, Perham Lakeside Golf Club, finished as first alternate, shooting 9-over par 79.
