Wilson Wins for the 2nd Time on Minor League Golf Tour

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- Ryan Sutcliffe, an amateur from Jupiter, Fla., birdied the last two holes on the East Course at Indian Spring Country Club on Sunday, which tied him with Aaron Wilson of Shakopee for the lead at 4 under par in the Honda Pre-Qualifier Tune-up. But Wilson wasn't finished yet, and he also birdied the 18th hole. That gave him a 5-under 67 and a one-stroke victory over Sutcliffe. 

This was the second victory on the Minor League Golf Tour for Wilson, who played high school golf at Holy Family and college golf at Palm Beach Atlantic University. The win was worth $1,000. (The 23-year-old Wilson won for the first time as a professional in the Fountains West December Classic (12/12/18). That victory was good for $1,007.) 

Trevor Sluman and amateur Alex Vogelson tied for third on Sunday with 69's. There was a four-way tie for fourth at 70. 

Wilson made another $350 on Monday when he shot a 2-under 70 at the Fox Club and tied for fourth in the Fox Club Qualifying School Contest. That moved him up to No. 31 on the MLGT money list for 2019 with $1,931 in 10 events. 

The most famous winner of an MLGT tournament this year was Gary Nicklaus (Jack's son). He won the Puerto Rico Pre-Qualifier Tune-up Jan. 25 at the Fountains Country Club West Course in Lake Worth, Fla. Like Wilson, he earned $1,000 for his victory.
