The MGA Senior Tour was created in 1996 for golfers age 55 and over who are members of MGA member
clubs and wish to play a variety of fine courses in 18-hole shotgun net and gross events.
Host facilities are located around the outer rim of the Twin Cities area with a new section available in 2009 featuring clubs in the Northeastern and Northwestern area of the state. All the facilities have unique courses that are fun to play, and they are excited about hosting senior golfers.
The MGA Senior Tour is made up of four sections: Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western. Each section is limited to 215 members and offers 16 18-hole events. A player may opt to play in ANY ONE of the sections regardless of where he lives, but he cannot play in more than one of the sections.
The 2008 Senior Tour Finals were held at North Oaks Golf Club on September 26. The Finals Champions are shown in the photo to right (from left to right): Tom Patnode (Senior Net Champion), Les Ernster (Overall Net Champion), Tom Beadle (Master Gross Champion), R.J. Smiley (Overall Gross Champion), John Silliman (Master Net Champion), Jim K. Smith (Senior Gross Champion).
