125 Years of Minnesota Golf

Since 1901, amateur golf in Minnesota has grown from a small network of competitors into a vibrant statewide community shaped by the game. Early state championships established traditions of excellence that continue to define the amateur calendar, while dedicated volunteers and course leaders helped strengthen golf at the local level. In more recent decades, expanded youth initiatives and access-focused programs have opened the game to new generations of players. As the Minnesota Golf Association celebrates 125 years of amateur golf, this milestone offers an opportunity to reflect on the people, progress, and shared purpose that continue to move the game forward.
