HAM LAKE, Minn. – Posting back-to-back rounds of 3-under par 69, the team of Lynn Anderson and Leigh Klasse cruised to a seven-stroke victory at Majestic Oaks Golf Club, winning their fourth consecutive Minnesota Golf Association Women’s Senior Amateur Four-Ball Championship.

Anderson and Klasse opened with a three-shot advantage over the team of Claudia Pilot and Brenda Williams when the tournament opened Tuesday, rolling in four birdies against one bogey.

During the final round Wednesday, Anderson dropped back-to-back birdies at the fourth and fifth holes to move her team to 5-under for the championship, while Klasse added a final birdie at the par-5 13th to lift the duo to a bogey-free round of 3-under par 69 for the second consecutive day.

Anderson and Klasse first teamed up in 2015 to win the championship at Northland Country Club and successfully defended their title a year later. Last season Anderson and Klasse posted rounds of 67 and 69, respectively, to earn a seven-shot victory over Pilot and Williams at Minnesota National Golf Course.

Starting slow for the second consecutive round, Pilot and Williams carded bogeys on two of the first three holes before falling to 3-over for the championship with a bogey at the fifth. The two found their footing mid-round and with a birdie at the ninth and added one final birdie at the 16th to finish second at 1-over par 145.

The twosome of Betsy Aldrich and Alison Hurley improved on an opening-round 76 Tuesday by carding a 1-over par 73 to finish alone in third place at 149, 11 shots back of Anderson and Klasse.

Ellie Layton and Barb Miller turned in a team score of 7-over par 149 during Wednesday’s final 18 holes to finish in fourth.
