Bloom, Sean, Keegan and Mangold Combine to Shoot 275, Hoist 25th MGA Net Team Trophy

  NISSWA, Minn. – Entering the final round of the 25th Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Net Team Championship tied for 10th, the foursome of Steve Bloom, Sean Keegan, Marty Mangold and Adam Sklader posted a final-round 10-under par 134 to earn a two-stroke victory Wednesday at The Pines at Grand View Lodge.

Playing in the event for the first time this week, the foursome managed to combine for a 3-under par 141 Tuesday to open the championship at The Preserve at Grand View Lodge but found themselves tied for 10th after the first round of action.

Sklader and Mangold led the way during the opening round Tuesday, firing net rounds of 84 and 85, respectively, while Sklader’s round of 77 and an 84 by Keegan during the final round Wednesday paced the team to a two-stroke victory at 275.

“Golf in Minnesota in September is always a treat,” Keegan said Wednesday, “That, by far, is what we’re thankful for, but getting together with friends and enjoying a couple days of golf at two of the finest golf courses in northern Minnesota, really is why we’re here.”

The team of Steve Lindstrom, Bob Rapp, Doug Rechtzigel and Joe Vandenhuevel fired a combined score of 138 Wednesday to finish in a tie at 11-under par 277 along with the foursome of Daniel Hanson, John McEnroe, Scott Thompson and Roger Weber.
