STILLWATER -- Hudson Carpenter had to work overtime to do it, but he collected his third victory of the summer last week when he won the Q-School Prep Shootout at Stillwater Country Club.
The former Stillwater High School star is in his first year as a professional, and so far so good. He won the North Star Open, a tournament on the North Star Professional Golf Tour schedule, at the beginning of the summer. That was worth $10,000, and so was his victory in late August at the Bobcat North Dakota Open.
On Tuesday, he shot 67 and then defeated Ross Miller in a playoff to win the Q-School Prep Shootout, which also part of the North Star PGT. This time, he made $2,000.
Sam Matthew, another first-year pro, finished third with a 69.
Carpenter leads the North Star Tour money list with $12,438.
