HOPKINS, Minn. – The team of Joe Conzemius and Will Hickey combined for a round of 6-under par 64 Monday to finish the opening round of the 57th Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Four-Ball Championship at Oak Ridge Country Club in a share of the lead with the two some of Justin Burleson and Austin Eaton.

The top 15 teams from Monday’s first day of competition will advance to the final round Wednesday, while the top 24 teams, plus ties, from Tuesday’s round will play on the final day.

Conzemius and Hickey carded three birdies over their opening nine Wednesday and duplicated the score over the final nine holes to finish the first round with a share of the lead.

Burleson and Eaton both carded birdie on the opening hole before each took a bogey at the 183-yard, par-3 third to fall back to even. Rolling in two birdies and an eagle over the final six holes of the front nine, the two would turn at 5-under for the championship.

Sinking three consecutive birdies beginning at the 12th, Burleson and Eaton moved to 7-under for the day, but would take a bogey on the final hole to finish in a tie for the lead at 64.

Day Two of the 57th MGA Amateur Four-Ball Championship is slated to begin at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Ridge Country Club.
