Cronkhite Claims 32nd MPGA Junior Public Links Title

  LAKEVILLE, Minn. – After firing a opening-round 68 Tuesday, Gavin Cronkhite posted a 1-over par 37 over his final nine holes to cruise to a four-stroke victory over Lakeville South teammate John Langlois to win the 32^nd Minnesota Public Golf Association Junior Public Links Championship at Heritage Links Golf Club.
 
Rolling in three quick birdies to begin his round early Wednesday, Cronkhite jumped up the leaderboard before carding a pair of bogeys at the fifth and seventh holes, turning at 1-under. Finding his footing early on his inward nine, Cronkhite carded back-to-back birdies at the 14^th and 15^th holes and would finish the initial 18 holes of competition at 3-under par 68.
 
Of the 32-player field Wednesday, the top-14 advanced to a final nine-hole round. Entering the final nine holes with a four-stroke advantage, Cronkhite carded a pair of birdies with one birdie to cruise to a four-shot victory over Langlois at 2-under par 105.
 
Langlois posted a 4-over par 75 during the opening round Wednesday before firing a 2-under par 34 during his final nine holes to finish in second at 2-over par 109.
