Warian Is Medalist & Gophers Are Team Champs at Highland Meadows

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The University of Minnesota women’s golf team opened the 2016-17 spring season on a strong note Friday, carding a team score of 289 to finish the first round of the 2017 Seminole Match Up in fourth place at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course.
The Gophers were led by junior Heather Ciskowski and sophomore Muyu Wu who each carded rounds of 1-under par 71 Friday to begin the championship in a tie for 10th place. Senior Emie Peronnin carded a 73 to finish the initial 18 holes inside the top-25.
Michigan State University junior and Minnesota high school standout Sarah Burnham fired an opening-round 75 Friday and will begin Saturday’s second round in a tie for 34th.
The second round of the Seminole Match Up is currently underway at the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course.
