How players from Minnesota -- or with Minnesota connections -- are doing this year on professional golf tours.

2017-18 PGA TOUR

Pos.  Player (Prev. Rank)  From  Events played Earnings

2016-17 PGA TOUR

Regular Season Money List

Final

149. Troy Merritt (151), Spring Lake Park 28        $569,682

167. Tom Hoge (165), Fargo                     17        $373,092

Charlie Danielson (NA), Osceola                2          $31,302*

230. Tim Herron (229), Wayzata                 8          $29,857

Ben Polland, Jefferson                               1               --

Cam Beckman, Burnsville                          2               --

Neil Johnson, River Falls                           2               --

* -- Danielson is not an official member of the PGA Tour; so he is not on the money list. If he were, he would have been No. 229.

(The top 125 players from the FedEx Point Standings, which are similar to but not the same as the money list, went into the FedEx Playoffs, a four-tournament series that began in August. It ended with the Tour Championship at East Lake GC in Atlanta. Justin Thomas was the big winner, finising first in the Points Standings -- and receiving a bonus of $10 million as a result. Those top 125 players in the point standings will also be fully exempt for the 2017-18 PGA Tour season. So will the top 125 from the regular season money list. Players from 126 to 150 will have limited status for the 2017-18 season. Players from 126 through 200 went into the Web.com Playoffs, which are explained below.)

2017 Web.com TOUR

Regular Season Money List

Final standings

77. Brady Schnell (75), Milford, Iowa        20          $63,362

175. Charlie Danielson (175), Osceola       2            $8,316

189. Ben Polland (189), Jefferson              4             $6,266

224. Tom Hoge (224), Fargo                      3             $1,689

Andrew McCain, Minneapolis                    1                  --

(The top 25 players from the Web.com regular season money list received PGA Tour Cards for the 2017-18 season, which  began the first week in Oct. with the Safeway Open in Napa, Calif. Those top 25 and the next 50 on the money list -- along with Nos. 126 through 200 on the PGA Tour money list -- went into the Web.com Playoffs. From that group of 150 players, the top 25 finishers, not counting those who have already earned PGA Tour Cards, gained status for the 2017-18 PGA Tour season. Like the FedEx Playoffs, the Web.com Playoffs are a four-tournament series. They concluded with the Web.com Tour Championship at Atlantic Beach CC in Atlantic Beach, Fla, Sept. 28-Oct. 1. In addition to getting into the playoffs, those players who finished in the top 75 on the Web.com regular season money list will be fully exempt for the Web.com Tour next year.)
