Lac Qui Parle Valley Girls Claim Class A Title; Stueland and Halvorson Share Medalist Honors

  BECKER, Minn. – Posting a final-round team score of 366 Wednesday the girls from Lac Qui Parle Valley High claimed a 26-stroke victory at the 2021 Minnesota State Girls’ Class A Championship for the school’s second team title in three seasons.
 
The Eagles were led by junior Sarah Halvorson, who earned a share of medalist honors with Park Christian High School’s Emily Stueland Wednesday, shooting 22-over 166. The Eagles also got a boost from sophomore Isabella Jacobs, who carded an opening-round 78 on her way to a third-place finish at 169.
 
Badger-Green Bush-Middle River senior Alyssa Rinde finished in a tie for fourth with Park Christian junior Madison Doeden at 26-over 170.
 
The girls from Park Christian posted back-to-back team scores of 373 to finish second at 746, while Badger-Green Bush-Middle River placed third at 770.
