How They're Doing: Minnesotans on Pro Tour Money Lists -- April 22
April 22, 2024
EDINA, Minn. (April 26, 2020) -- According to Governor Walz’s emergency executive order 20-38, which went into effect April 18, “golfing” is a permitted outdoor recreation activity for people from different households as long as they maintain at least six feet of separation. Executive order 20-38 further stipulated that outdoor recreation facilities may provide food and beverage (F&B) for off-premise consumption. This was clarified on April 24 to mean that golf courses may provide F&B to golfers for consumption on the course during their round, or for take-out afterward so long as it is not consumed in the clubhouse or associated outdoor seating area.

The Minnesota Department of Safety’s Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement states that golf courses, considered as outdoor extensions of the clubhouse, are part of the on-sale licensed premise. The Governor’s April 24 clarification allows for on-sale liquor licensees to temporarily sell alcoholic beverages off sale and off premise: On premise consumption is not allowed on a golf course.
