PEQUOT LAKES, Minn. – Bouncing back from an early double-bogey during his final round Monday at The Preserve at Grand View Lodge, Dawson Ringler played his final 13 holes in 2-under par to earn a two-stroke victory at the 25th Minnesota PGA Junior Golf ‘Sota Series Players Tour Tournament of Champions.

A pair of late birdies helped Ringler post an even par 72 to edge Braydon Larson for his first state tournament victory.

Carding a 2-under 70 to open the championship Sunday, Ringler entered Monday’s final 18 holes with a slim, one-stroke advantage over Carter Spalding, Silas Dusenbury and Carter Callan, getting off to a sour start by taking double-bogey at the par-4 fifth.

He bounced back by converting his birdie opportunity on the ensuing hole to limit the damage.

Turning in 1-over for the tournament, Ringler took another step back with a bogey at the 11th, but would find his footing down the stretch, carding back-to-back birdies at the 15th and 16th holes to lift him to the top of the leaderboard for good, finishing at 2-under 142.

Larson, who opened with an even par 72 Sunday, carded a pair of birdies during his opening nine that were offset by four bogeys to turn in 2-over for the tournament.

He slipped to 3-over following a bogey at the par-4 10th, but would quickly gain momentum by sinking his birdie look at the 13th.

Taking advantage of both par-5s late in his round, Larson birdied the 16th and 18th to post a second consecutive round of even par 72 to finish alone in second at 144.

Gavin Grahek carded a 1-under 71 during his final round Monday to finish tied for third with Jacob Wilson and Peyton Savageau at 1-over 145.

Bartels, who is coming off her win last week at the Minnesota PGA Junior Match Play Championship, opened the championship with a 2-over 74 Sunday, taking a two-stroke advantage over Payton Anderson to Monday's final round.

Settling down following a rocky front nine, in which she carded four consecutive double-bogeys, Bartels played her final 10 holes in 1-over par to post a final-round 82 to earn a one-stroke victory over Avery Nelson and Sophie Karsnia at 12-over 156.
