MGA Women's Net Amateur Championship
last year's News Stories
All players will play 18 holes of stableford stroke play each day, Sunday and Monday. Stableford is based on a point system, where the points you earn are determined by your score on each hole. For example, a birdie may be worth 3 points, a par - 2 points, a bogey - 1 point, a double bogey - 0 points. Your total score for a stableford event would be the total of points instead of your stroke score. The divisions will be Regular and Senior (50 and older).
A tie for first place will be broken by a scorecard playoff following the procedure recommended in the Rules of Golf.
The handicap system is designed to make the game fair to all players, regardless of their handicap index. Since this is a net event, all players signed up for this Tournament will be playing against each other, there will be no extra flights created.
All players may use a cart, if desired, at their own expense. Due to the possible availability of carts, carts should be reserved at the time of entry. Online registration will require the advance payment of the cart fee in order to reserve one. If a cart is not reserved at the time of entry, carts will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
Entries are open to any female amateur golfer (the USGA Gender Policy applies), who is currently an Associate Member of the MGA. There are no age or handicap index requirements for this tournament.
