McCauley Ties for Big Ten Individual Title; Gophers Are 9th as a Team

MORTON, Minn. – The Augustana College women's golf team captured its sixth consecutive Northern Sun Intercollegiate Championship Sunday at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club to earn an automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division II Central Regional Tournament.
The Vikings finished with a team score of 1284 to win the tournament by 22 strokes over second-place Concordia-St. Paul (1306).
Upper Iowa University finished third at 1350 to qualify while Minnesota State University claimed the final spot in the Central Regional, finishing fourth at 1376.
Augustana freshman Sierra Langlie, Andover, Minn., earned medalist honors as she led every step of the way to finish at 312, seven strokes better than teammate Emily Israelson.
Concordia-St. Paul's Rachel Grey, Coon Rapids, Minn., finished in third place at 320 while teammate Kari Opatz, Eagan, Minn., took fifth at 323.
Minnesota State was led by senior Tabitha Kunst, Duluth, Minn., who took sixth place, carding a final-round 77 to finish at 325.
The first 36-holes of the 72-hole NSIC/US Bank Women's Golf Championship were played October 4-5 at The Classic at Madden's in Brainerd, Minn.
The NCAA Division II Central Region Tournament will be played May 4-6 at Hillcrest Country Club in Bartlesville, Okla., hosted by Northeastern State University, while the NCAA Division II Women's Golf Championships will be held May 13-16 at The Meadows in Allendale, Mich.
