During 2018's Abbreviated Season, Prep Golfers Are Flourishing Down the Stretch

St. Michael-Albertville junior Trey Fessler, currently ranked No. 6 individually by the MGA, posted a 9-under par 63 Wednesday during a Mississippi 8 Conference meet at River National Golf Course in Otsego, Minn., tying a state record set by Blaine’s Caleb VanArragon last season.
 
Waconia junior Connor Glynn carded a 63 last week at Oakdale Golf Club in Buffalo Lake, Minn., during a Wright County Conference matchup. Glynn is ranked No. 3 by the MGA. Preparing for the Section 4AA tournament beginning Friday, Blake senior Derek Hitchner fired a 10-under par 61 during a practice round at Woodhill Country Club on Tuesday.
 
Top-ranked Leah Herzog, a senior at Red Wing High School, shot a 7-under par 65 May 16 at The Jewel Invite at The Jewel in Lake City.
 
Frankie Capan, formerly of North Oaks, Minn., posted an 11-under par 59 on May 10 to set a course record at Tucson National Golf Club in Tucson, Ariz., en route to winning the Arizona Division III State individual title.
