Kyle Anderson Fires 71 to Qualify for MN State Open Along With Six Others

HUTCHINSON, Minn. – PGA professional Kyle Anderson carded an even par 71 Friday at Crow River Golf Club to earn medalist honors and a spot in the Minnesota State Open.

The qualifier was held to determine the field at the 97th championship, which will be held July 25-27 at Bunker Hills Golf Club, in Coon Rapids, Minn.

Peter Jones, Owatonna Country Club, carded a 2-over par 73 and earned a spot in the championship along with Tom Vining, Elmwood Park Golf Club, and Joseph Dreier, Little Crow Country Club, who also shot 73.

Jack Wawro, a professional from the Pines at Grand View Lodge, carded a 3-over par 74 to qualify, while Jon Hanner, Baker National Golf Club, and Dan Lensing, Burl Oaks Golf Club, both shot 4-over par 75 to grab the final two qualifying spots.

Justin Doeden, Legends Club, Michale Oberg, Brackett’s Crossing Country Club, and Chris Captain, Rochester Golf and Country Club, fininshed as first, second and third alternates, respectively.
