Trasamar Shoots 69 to Qualify for MN State Open Along with Eight Others

CHANHASSEN, Minn. – With a 3-under par 69 Monday at Bluff Creek Golf Course, PGA professional Jon Trasamar earned medalist honors and qualified for the Minnesota State Open.

The qualifier was held to determine the field at this year’s 97th championship which will be played July 25-27 at Bunker Hills Golf Club in Coon Rapids, Minn.

Trasamar, a former Minnesota Gopher, qualified for the championship along with nine other players, including Jim Foss, Oakcrest Golf Club, who carded a 2-under par 70 Monday.

Sam Meyer, Bunker Hills Golf Club, and Collin Seal, Deer Run Golf Club, both earned a spot in next month’s tournament by carding round of even par 72, while Andrew Benson, Minnetonka Country Club, qualified by shooting a 1-over par 73.

Grant Rahja, Rush Creek Golf Club, Jake Sanders, Minakwa Country Club, and Jake Olsonoski, Minnesota Valley Country Club, all qualified as they finished at 2-over par 74 while Dylan Baker, Chaska Town Course, grabbed the final qualifying spot, shooting a 3-over par 75.

Drew Muhich, Eastwood Golf Club, and Charlie West, Deer Run Golf Club, finished as first and second alternates, respectively.
