Bofferding, Bodensteiner, Norgaard and Klema Take Big Lead at MGA Net Team Championship

  PEQUOT LAKES, Minn. – Carding a 17-under par 127 Tuesday, the team of Mark Bofferding, Larry Bodensteiner, Dave Norgaard and Dan Klema took an early and commanding lead at the 22nd Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Net Team Championship at The Preserve at Grand View Lodge.

James Olson, Bob Banks, Steve Lindstrom and Bob Carnel sit alone in second place at 11-under par 133 and will begin Wednesday’s final round six strokes behind the leaders.

The team got a huge lift from Banks on the the par-3 13th hole when Bank’s 7-iron from 145 yards found the bottom of the cup for his first career hole-in-one.

The foursome of Glen Hasselberg, Randy Wilson, Jann Blesener and Jack Blesener will need to make up seven strokes during the final round Wednesday as the four sit in third place after carding a 10-under par 134, while the team of Doug Rechtzigel, Joe Vandenhuevel, Bob Rapp and Dave Harty sit in fourth place at 135.

The final round of the 22nd MGA Amateur Net Team Championship shifts locations to the Pines at Grand View Lodge Wednesday, with split tee times beginning at 8 a.m.
