Another 65 Gets Warian into NCAA Championships

SAUK RAPIDS, Minn. – Ryan Michael Gallagher and Aaron Leintz each carded a 1-under par 71 Wednesday at Wapicada Golf Club to share medalist honors as well as a spot in the 112th Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Championship.
A field of 44 golfers comprised the field for the qualifier with nine players earning a spot in this year’s tournament, which will be played July 20-22 at Northland Country Club in Duluth, Minn.
Gallagher, Chomonix Golf Course, and Leintz, Twin Pines Golf Club, will be joined by Zach Israelson (Vintage at Staples), Andrew Benson (Bemidji Town and Country Club) and Will Lonquist (Edina Country Club) who each carded rounds of 2-over par 74.
Another four players qualified by shooting 3-over par 75 Wednesday.
Brent Borgstahl (Baker National Golf Course), Trent Sundbom (Ridgeview Country Club) and Tim Smith (Wapicada Golf Club) finished as first, second and third alternates, respectively.
