Another 65 Gets Warian into NCAA Championships

ALBANY, Minn. – Carding a 3-under par 69 Monday at Albany Golf Club, Riley Johnson earned medalist honors as well as a spot in the 112th Minnesota Golf Association Amateur Championship.
The qualifying field was comprised of 37 players competing for eight spots to this year’s tournament, which will be held July 20-22 at Northland Country Club in Duluth, Minn.
Johnson, Meadows Golf Club, will be joined by Brian Moores, Bunker Hills Golf Club, and Brett Buckingham, Minnewaska Golf Club, who fired rounds of even par 72 to qualify.
Jon Sauer (Tianna Country Club), Jack Elliot (Meadows Golf Club), Grant Exstad (Fiddlestix Golf Club) and Grant Rahja (Rush Creek Golf Club) finished at 1-over par 73 to earn spots, while Joey Dreier, Little Crow Country Club, claimed the final spot, shooting 2-over par 74 Monday.
Dalton Charbonneau, Riverwood National Golf Course, George Ordway, Woodhill Country Club and Chase Hahne, Links at Northfork, finished as first, second and third alternates, respectively.
