Klasse and Anderson Move On to Match Play at U.S. Senior Women's Amateur

  WELLESLEY, Mass. – Carding a final-round 79 Sunday, Minnesotan Leigh Klasse finished tied for 22nd at 159 to qualify for match play at the 2016 U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship at Wellesley Country Club.

Following her opening round 80 Saturday, Klasse began Sunday’s round on the 10th tee and carded a 3-over par 41 on her front nine before adding three more bogeys with one birdie over the final nine holes to shoot 79 and advance to the Round of 64 Monday.

Klasse, St. Anthony, Minn., faces Stacey Camara, Windsor, Calif., to begin match play Monday at 12:40 p.m. at Wellesley Country Club.

Lynn Anderson fired a 5-over par 79 to begin the championship Saturday before carding a 4-over par 42 during her front nine Sunday. Anderson, winner of the Minnesota Women’s State Open in August, carded three bogeys over the final nine holes to finish tied for 23rd at 160 to advance to match play.

Anderson, Edina, Minn., takes on Dana Harrity, North Hampton, N.J., at 11:20 a.m. Monday during the Round of 64.
