LPGA Q-School Final Stage: Round 4 -- Green, Lee, Joh, Anderson Remain 1-2-3-4

December 7, 2013 | 2 min.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The top four players at the Final Stage of LPGA Q-School remained in formation on Saturday and appear headed for exempt status the Women's Tour in 2014. Especially Jaye Marie Green, the 19-year-old from Boca Raton, Fla., who leads the field by nine strokes.

Green turned in a  67 (5 under) at the LPGA International's Hills Course in the fourth round and is now 25 under par through 72 holes in this 90-hole event, with a cumulative 263. She opened up with a course-record 62 on Wednesday, which staked her to a three-stroke lead, and she has increased the distance between herself and her pursuers in each succeeding round.

Mi Rim Lee, the three-year veteran of the Korean LPGA who broke Green's two-day old record with a 61 at the Jones Course on Friday, is in second place -- exactly where she started the day -- after a 69. She's at 272.

Sunday's concluding round will be played at the Jones Course. The top 20 finishers will make it onto next year's LPGA Tour. Green could probably shoot 90 and still qualify.

Tiffany Joh, who has spent two years on the LPGA Tour but lost her exempt status in 2013, shot 68 on Saturday and remained in third, with a 274.

Next is Amy Anderson, the 21-year-old former North Dakota State All-American, another three strokes back at 277. Anderson, who won two Minnesota PGA Junior Girls championships before she was 17 -- and a U.S Junior Girls title shortly after turning 17 -- shot 70 for the second day in a row.

She should need only about a 77 or better to qualify.

Those who finish 21st through 45th, including ties, will have partial LPGA status in 2014. And any of the 70 players who made the 72-hole cut on Saturday (291) will have status on the LPGA's version of a Challenger Tour, which is called the Symetra.

That was where Green spent this year. The top 10 on the Symetra money list at the end of the season move up the the LPGA Tour. Green finished No. 29 on the money list.
