PRIOR LAKE, Minn. – Carding a career-low, bogey-free 65 Wednesday at The Wilds Golf Club, Jack Schrader earned a one-stroke victory over Ryan Stendahl and Cole Witherow at the 47th Minnesota Boys’ Junior PGA Championship.

With his win Wednesday, Schrader earns a spot in the 2022 Junior PGA Championship August 2-5 at Cog Hill Golf and Country Club in Palos Park, Ill.

Stendahl will join Schrader at the national championship next month, posting a 36-hole tally of 2-under 142 before emerging from a three-hole playoff with Witherow to advance.

Entering the final round seven shots back after his 76 to begin the championship Tuesday, Schrader opened with a birdie on his first hole of the day and quickly added a second at the fourth to move to 2-over.

He closed out his front nine by sinking back-to-back birdies at the eighth and ninth to get to even par for the tournament. Schrader rolled in his third consecutive birdie at the 10th, but would finish with a flurry by sinking back-to-back birdies at the 16th and 17th to post a final-round 65, to claim medalist honors at 3-under 141.

Stendahl carded an even par 72 to begin the championship Tuesday and would start fast with a pair of birdies over his first six holes Wednesday. He turned in 1-under for the round after his bogey at the ninth.

Giving back a stroke with a bogey at the par-3 11th, Stendahl slipped to even par but rebounded by converting his birdie opportunity at the 12th.

Taking advantage of a par-5 for the third time during his final round, Stendahl birdied the 17th and would post a final-round 70 to finish tied for second.

Stendahl rolled in his birdie putt from 10 feet on the third playoff hole to earn the second qualifying spot.

Starting his final round three shots off the lead, Witherow bounced back from an early bogey by carding three birdies over the final six holes of his front nine to turn in 2-under for the tournament. Witherow would play his final nine holes in even par, carding two birdies and a pair of bogeys to finish tied for second at 142.

Runner-up a season ago, University of Minnesota commit Mason Roloff carded a 1-under 71 during Wednesday’s final round to finish tied for fourth with Luke Thompson at 143.
